Charting Your Personal + Professional Legacy
At Triannual 2, we set a BOLD VISION for our future at Trinity Health – to build a world-renown culture and institution here in Minot. We have all the right tools – a brand new, state-of-the-art facility opening this spring, a great community of support, and a staff and leadership team that is poised and ready with the right energy, motivation, and tools to usher in this positive change.
As we work to build that collective vision, take some time over this Labor Day weekend to work on charting your personal legacy, too.

REPLAY: Critical Conversations Roundtable
This past Tuesday, August 23rd, Human Resources Expert Kathleen Lapekas, PHR, SHRM-CP gave us a fantastic framework and helpful tools for Having Difficult Conversations and Giving Delicate Feedback.
Approaching our employees around behaviors that need addressed is never easy, but Kathleen’s frameworks and tools give us a roadmap to approach these difficult conversations in a way that helps us achieve the desired result and maintain a strong relationship with our employee.

THIS TUESDAY: Having Difficult Conversations and Giving Delicate Feedback
One of our highest requested topics – and lowest scores on our leadership competency self-surveys – is having difficult or critical conversations with our employees.
We often know when something isn’t right in the workplace, but it can feel so difficult to broach the topic with our direct reports, peers, and leaders.

The Benefits of Building Resilience
On our Leadership Quest, we’ve been focused on our core Four Focuses of a Leader: Resilience, Engagement, Experience, and Innovation.
To operate a health system, we can clearly see the benefits of ensuring our employees have the tools they need and are committed to their roles.
We know without patients and customers who feel they’re getting great value, we wouldn’t even have a business to run…

The Happiness Advantage: Your Key to Cultivating Success
At Triannual II, we talked about the “Happiness Advantage” – a radical lesson from research in positive psychology stating that happiness doesn’t come from success at work, but rather success at work comes from happiness!
Shawn Achor demonstrates that “when we are positive, our brains become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive.” All traits that fuel improved performance, greater teamwork, better problem solving capabilities, and more positive results.

Leadership Under Construction
We’ve learned so many great tools on our Leadership Quest and at this last Triannual workshop, we had several opportunities to see where we’ve made progress on our goals and where we haven’t yet become the leader we wish to be.
As we continue along our Leadership Quest, remember that just like our new campus takes lots of planning, focused effort, and time to complete, so too, our leadership skills take time and consistency to grow and develop.

Thank you for coming to Triannual II!
It was great to see you at our second Leadership Quest workshop, and we can’t wait to gather again in November to continue Making More Possible as an even stronger Trinity Health Leadership Team.
We dove deeper into topics like resilience and servant leadership and began to work through our FY2023 Priorities, employee engagement, touchpoint mapping, and the patient experience.

THIS MONDAY: Triannual II Workshop at Minot Municipal Auditorium
We’re excited to join with you again on Monday, July 18th at 12:00pm CDT to kick off our Triannual II workshop.
In this Triannual, we’ll dive deep into the patient and employee experience and work to redesign our major touchpoints of communication to increase employee engagement, retention, and recruitment and improve patient satisfaction and well-being.

Reflecting With A Heart Of Gratitude – A Letter From The Senior Leadership Team
As we reflect on the past several weeks and look toward the future, we challenge you to reflect with a grateful spirit. During the first Leadership Quest Triannual, we learned that despite the financial headwinds faced throughout healthcare, we have a President and CEO and Board of Directors that are committed to investing in you, as a leader!

How Do I Coach My Employees?
Last week in our June Leadership Roundtable, we heard from Jared Narlock about why coaching is vital to your team because it makes everyone the hero, it develops your employees into problem solvers, and it encourages accountability and ownership in creating thoughtful solutions.
If you’re looking to deepen your understanding of coaching, the TalentTracks Leadership Training Library has a few courses to get you going.
